nakadownload na pala ako nito last year, but not the whole magazine. thanks. unfortunately, i failed to read it.

Atmel pala ang microcontroller. I will try to implement this before summer siguro, maybe using pic or encore.

I tested a GSM-SMS controller using my T610 last year, interfaces to the PC via BT and controlled it using VB6 and at commands. Mas ok nga ito kasi directed yung device sa microcontroller, instead of PC. This setup will lead to more useful projects

Boss could you please kindly post naman kung paano mo ginawa yung version mo ng GSM-SMS controller using T610 with interface to PC via BT and controlled in VB6.

Please... kasi pwede ko sya experiment sa lumang PC ko...

Very much interested ako Sir.

Thanks

I used a PC (winxp) with USB connection, USB bluetooth dongle, and my T610. Yun lang ang basic hardware required. U need a VB6 and bluesoliel software installed.

Install the USB dongle using the bluesoliel software, and configure the dongle as virtual serial port. Enable the bluetootk of the t610, and make sure that the PC can now communicate with the T610 via the virtual serial port (i.e. the actual bluetooth connection).

You can now check the connection by using the hyperteminal. Type mo

AT
OK <-- response ng cellphone (or the gsm modem in the phone to be precise)

and your good. You can now use your own VB6 later on to communicate with the gsm modem. Just used the mscomm installed sa VB6 and refer to the device by its assigned serial port name (i.e. com6 or com7,, depends)

Decompile or disassemble mo na lang yung sms.hex ng atmega.  You can download the code from here: http://www.epemag.wimborne.co.uk/downloads.html for the sms controller.  Google for an avr disassembler program to convert the compiled hex to asm.  From the asm, just look for the appropriate codes needed.

Were you able to obtain all the parts locally?  I'm planning to also build this project later on.

Just finished etching the sms controller board.  Got most of the parts but still mssing some ICs.

If this becomes successfull, I'll try to port to a pic 16f877 later on.  Have to find some time in the next few days to complete all the required components and hunt for some very old 5110s.

Tagal pa siguro yun if ever ma-iport ko nga sa f877.  Mas mauuna pa siguro ang may magpublish ng pic based sms-controller rather than me porting it to the pic. Di naman ako design eng'r at hobby ko lang ito so my usual mode of learning is to modify or reverse engineer an existing plan, program, etc.  Since wala pa akong alam sa atmega, I plan to learn it from this project.  Kung available lang sana ang source code nung sms.hex mas madali ma-iport sa pic.  And come to think of it, the at90s8515 has almost 3x the instruction set compared to the f877 pic.

Yup, atmega mcu ang gamit dito.  You can download the magazine containing the article as linked from the very 1st post on this thread.  I will be using an atmega8515 on this one since halos wala ka ng mabilhan ng at90s8515 which stopped production about 5 years ago.

Have to find some time to go to raon to look for the 2 mcxxxx chips, 1n5819, and the 22mH inductor.

BTW, anyone knows where I can buy locally the data cable for the 3310?

Bro, ano website ng RS or is RS located locally?  Ang alam ko lang kasi na bilihan ng parts online ay mouser.com, digi-key at ebay.

Grabe ang presyo .... may store front ba ang RS through online order lang?  I think I'll stick with purchasing in ebay.
