Peltier effect

(Physics) an effect whereby heat is given out or absorbed when an electric current passes across a junction between two materials.

ORIGIN
C19: named after the French scientist Jean Peltier.

sorry to disappoint you pretty. In real world engineering, a simple solution to a seemingly complex problem is always sought. I do understand though that simple solution may not bring good grades. If I were a teacher though, I will give the highest grade to a student who, for example, solved a stubborn system instability for good with a piece of chewing gum.

But I am not your teacher. Maybe, you can complicate your project a bit by adding a fixed electronic load and changing your thesis title to something like "heat powered DMM", "Heat Powered Battery Charger", "Heat powered Digital Clock", etc. Be Creative. Grin

heat powered battery charger po yun original project namin..
we'll make up for the electronics side na lang through the battery charger circuit.. siguro pede na yun..

so panu po nagana yung peltier?

in theory, Peltier Effect is reversible.. so kung meron kang Peltier Thermoelectric Cooler, all you have to do is heat one side of it, then put a heatsink on the other side and then it will generate a small voltage on its terminal wires.. the polarity of the voltage is dependent on which side you put your heat source..

you can also connect them in series to increase the voltage and in parallel to increase the current.. series-parallel to increase both the voltage and current..

FYI:

The Seebeck effect is the conversion of heat differences directly into electricity.

The Peltier effect is the reverse of the Seebeck effect; a creation of a heat difference from an electric voltage.

The Thomson effect describes the heating or cooling of a current-carrying conductor with a temperature gradient.

@prettyNpink07

meron akong biniling 2 TEC para sa project ko na Water Cooler/Generator pero nasa storage ngayon.

eto ang specs ng isa sa pagkakatanda ko, yung isa pa di ko maalala ang size:

127 thermocouples per device. deltaTmax=79degC, Thot=50degC, Vmax=16.1V. 40MM x 44MM x 3.3MM. Qmax=80.6W, Imax=8.1A

kung interested ka pm lang para ipahanap ko sa brother ko.  Smiley

waaaa... panu kaya yun? ang mahal pala.. kase feeling ko kelangan namin ng 4-5pieces kase maliit lang yung voltage na makukuha sa kanila..

yung CD-R king na usb cooler, I think it's using peltier, not sure lang kung gaano kapowerful yun.

sino pong my alam na circuit for heat-electricity converter? balak po sna naming iconvert ung heat na nilalabas ng mga electronic devices (i.e laptop) para maipang charge sa ibang devices gaya ng celfon at psp... help naman po.. tnx! Smiley

try mo Seebeck Effect, ginamit na yan sa tambutso.
