Good day guys. I'm interested in learning microcontroller programming particularly the PIC microcontroller. I found this developmental board and interested in buying this: http://www.mikroe.com/en/offer/pic/easystart1/Since i'm really new in this arena, and familliar with BASIC programming, i think this will suffice my needs. What did you think guys?? Can you give me more info whats the best approach in learning microcontroller programming??? Thanks.....

use proteus, you can download from the internet the "free" versions proteus is a circuit capture/simulator that supports real-time simulation of several microcontroller brands including PICmicros. You can learn PIC programming rapidly without buying any devt boards. All you need is a PC with the installed proteus

cool!!! astig.. ayan intellectual property mo yan. sige post it here, para malaman naman namin.. of course, personally if i would make use of it, credits for the development board will always go to your name... -creedcradle

this is the ICprog setting: You must follow the setting set up inorder to have no error in programming the PIC through ICprog software:

its a pic programmer hardware, not a development board sir paranz, i was actually looking for the in-circuit programming interface. because basically dev board is using that one, right? I just want to confirm it. I will be implementing it to my incoming project so that the specific task can be change to a particular need. actually the idea originally came from sir motion55. hehehe

actually po im not familiar sa circuit posted above, but its a programmer if im not mistaken. if you want the in-circuit programming interface, i think ok na ang inchworm ICD2. The P16Pro programmer im using can also be used for ISP (5 wires) kaya lang you have to make some modifications sa target board na gusto mong gawin.

I'll go for the ICD2, walang masyadong wires... datasheet even says that icsp can be implemented 2wires for debuging and 3wires for programming. well got to do more readings to make sure! kaya nga inaabangan ko ang paggawa mo ng inchworm! hehehehe

hehe i just bought 20 Mhz xtal from e-gizmo, so completo na siguro ako components for the inchworm. Kaso wala ako BC548/BC558 transistors, so i might use the BC547/BC557. Oki na rin siguro The max232 circuit uses 10 uF cap. instead of the recommended 1 uF sa MAX232 datasheet, i'll see if its still ok. And all 1/4 watt resistors i will use the ordinary variety. By sunday start ko na i-assemble yan. Hopefully it will work.

This is my development board for PIC16F84.. I will post some actual picture of my project. this is my real time clock in 16F84 version.. I have it also in 16F676 so8 IC version. which I posted at piclist.com.. you can search (realtime clock- Edwin T.) In this extension board that I posted, you can develop a seven segment display with button. I still have my other extension board which I will post later.. this include. LCD, LED. buttons. good luck guys.
