ADD:

Someone had asked me some information about PIKIT2.

PIKIT2 is the electronicslab.ph's special edition PICKIT2 clone from Microchip. The design of the board was just modfied in such a way most of the components could be found in local electronics store (ei, resistors and capacitor). However, to have a reduced size board, the design intended to make use of SMD PIC18F2550 and Transistors. 

Why do we have to clone? This is to provide a cheaper solution. A set of PICKIT2 cost around 35USD (shipping and tax not included) which most of students and hobbyist could not afford.

PICKIT2 is a debugger and a programmer at the same time. Most of the PIC in the market today is supported with this programmer. Below is the list of the support PICs by PICKIT 2 (copy-pasted from the readme files of PICkit2 programmer software v 2.60)

Indicate also that some EEPROM from microchip are also supported.

Since this is a "clone version", all features of a genuine PICKIT2 is also given. "UART tool" is very helpful for checking the data transmitted on the TX/RX pins of microcontroller. The "Logic tool" could also help in analyzing logic signals. The optional feature "Program-to-go" will also be available considering 24LC512 is present on the board.


Other information and programming software for both Windows and Linux are provided in the MICROCHIP website.

Sis try to contact Tym2fly...or maybe sis MArce na. Thru air 21 lang ang padala.

Mga sis pansin ko sa program to go dapat sa external supply talaga cya (hindi sasalpak sa comp usb port)kung di blink lang ng blink lalo na pag bumaba ang current ng USB port same thing will happen.

Lastly cno man ang may memory na extra dyan para sa Pikit2 baka pede maka spare sa inyo ng 2..or kung may mag order pasama na din ako both for my pikit and demo board na lalagyan ko ng memory..thanks in advance

i think pag ginawa mo ito habang nakasaksak sa usb port eh itrtrynyang iupdate yung firmware nya Smiley, kapag hindi nakabukas yung PICKIT2 software mababalewala lang yung request dahil hindi makakarespond yung computer Smiley

Sa tingin ko, this has something to do with the boost converter circuit. medyo natigilan din kami ni sir motion55 nung nagdedecide kami sa inductor na yan. probably ang PIKIT2 natin ay kumakain na mas madaming current. or sa board mismo, noting na mas malaki ang PIKIT2 natin kompara sa original. Naniniwala ako na di ito cause ng components kasi makikita naman natin na halos copied na nga yung schematic sa user's guide.

Di naman kasi ako gumagamit ng feature na yan kaya di ko masyado nakita ang problem.

I don't think there is a problem with the Vpp generator circuit. If there is a problem with programming in-circuit with board and power coming from the Pickit2 then the more common cause would be the circuit that is supplying power from the programmer to the board being programmed.

You know there is a limit of 500mA on the USB port. If the board being programmed is close to that limit then there could be problem. There is also a problem of the PC really supplying that amount of current. Some PCs can't or the voltage is close to the lower limit.

To be safe, it is best to supply power externally if you are supplying power from the Pickit2 to more than the PIC itself.

sa office ko yan na-try... pag sa laptop ko ayaw. BTW lahat ng circuit ko self powered during programming... di ako kumukuha ng power from usb.

oo sis ganun nga sa tingin ko. Ala naman prob sa pikit2 natin except sa power consumption na medyo angat a konti.which is understandable na thru hole at tolerance wise medyo iba sa orig. Beside sa design perspective di naman prob ang supply.

try mo gamitin yung PICkit2 troubleshooting tool with a multimeter.... dapat walang nakakabit na PIC.

Sis always plug the pickit 2 sa usb porrt before opening the PICKIT2v2.exe at before e kabit ang target board. Kung hindi maloloka yung pickit 2 mo.At ingat din sa short ng target board at naloloka ang pikit.

Siguro sa mga pickit 2 users gawin po itong SOP

PIKIT2 - SCH and MAX Files.rar

If you only want the schematic (at kung wala kang orcad sa PC mo), you can download the user's guide/manual ng PicKit2 from microchip.com. Sa last part nung document, nandun yung schematic. Dun lang naman yan galing.

balak ko pumunta sa naga city master bibisitahin ko yung grave ng lolo ko at ka papa sa iriga. baka may available unit pa kayo pupunta ko sa place niyo Smiley
