PROCEDURE FOR CONVERSION/RE-REGISTRATION
Electronics and Communications Engineer to Electronics Engineer (ECE)

1.0. Preparation of necessary document:
1.1 Oath Form;
a) Must be duly notarized with metered stamp.
1.2 Attachments;
a) Valid PRC ID as Electronics and Communications Engineer.
b) Valid IECEP ID or Certificate of Membership in good standing from
IECEP.
c) If available, PRC ECE Certificate original (optional)
1.3 Fees to be paid;
a) Php 600.00 - for conversion/re-registration
b) Php 250.00 ? for duplicate ID
For expired Professional Identification Card, fees will be assessed by the
Registration Division
1.4 2 pcs passport size ID picture
(colored picture with complete name tag in plain white background)
1.5 1 Pc 1x1 ID picture

2.0 Procedures for filing:
2.1 Fill up the application form. Be sure the requirements are attached.
2.2 Submit or file completed application form to PRC or to any IECEP offices
(who shall assist you in having your application filed and processed at PRC)
2.3 Upon receipt of complete application form, PRC shall process it and advise
you or your authorized representative when to come back to secure your
new ID and Certificate after payment of necessary fees.

I still don't get it.. bakit kailangan pa i-convert yung ECE sa EE.. wala naman akong nakikitang advantage diyan.. Ano kaya ang nakain ng mga taga-PRC?

The advantage is that your license will be internationally recognized. Other countries only recognizes Electronics Engineers and not Electronics and Communications Engineer.

sobrang galing daw kase ng mga pinoy kaya pinagsasama na ang electronics at communications..ahehe
(actully isang mode ng pagtitipid yun, hitting two birds with one stone)

yup yup dito lang daw po kasi ata sa phil. my electronics and comm. engineering na course sa ibang bansa daw electronics engineering ang kilala,, grabe naman ang mahal ng pagpapaconvert 2k+ ata ung pagkakarinig ko knina sa seminar ng iecep jejeje Huh Grin

an dami kong tanong sana pero hindi ko ma-access ang prc website. Angry

anyway, kailan nagumpisa mag issue ang prc ng electronics engineer na license? kasi 2005 ko nakuha akin, pero old version pa rin.

paano magkuha ng Iecep id/certificate kung wala ka sa manila or cebu?

Kaya nga Electronics Engineers na tayo dahil malawak ang scope ng field na yan, sakop nito ang communication, industrial, consumer, instrumentation at computer.  Syempre pinakamaliking field ay ang computer dahil sa communication gumagamit ng computer, sa industrial gumagamit ng computer, sa instrumentation gumagamit ng computer.  Noong nasa saudi pa ako, hindi pa ako engineer noon, I work as an industrial electronics technician, ang computer na ginagamit namin ay hindi personal computer kundi, CNC (computerized numerical control) at DNC (digital numerical control). Pati pa nga rectifier computerized.  Meron ding Personal Computer pero nasa opisina lang ng supervisor namin.

actually new zealand is the same with us na may profession/course ECE...

ang good thing lang kasi Electronics = Computer, Communications, Controls, and other fields...biased kasi kung kasama yung Communications sa title pero yung iba hindi...although yung ID natin sa COMMUNICATIONS lang nagagamit...hindi naman kailangan ng license sa ibang fields most notably Computers (dahil ang mga kailangang license is from Cisco, Microsoft, etc.)...

ECE pa rin ata tawag...pero ECE = Electronics Engineer... Grin

Hello everybody... I just want to know.. kailangan bang mag pa convert from ece to electronics engineer...? Pano kung hindi ko ginawa yan? you mean matatangal ako sa roster ng engineer my case bang ganon?

Pano kase ako magcoconvert wala ako sa pinas saka malayo ang embassy sa amin. TY

base sa pagkakaunawa ko po yung april 30 na deadline eh yung amnesty program ng IECEP, kasi nasasaad sa bagong ECE law required na magmember ng IECEP ang lahat ng licensed,

amnesty means registration lang ang babayaran mo, dahil kung hindi mo inabot amnesty program, babayaran mo lahat ng registration nung mga year na hindi ka nagjoin sa iecep simula ng magkalisensya ka otherwise idedeclare ka nila na deliquent.

Ang tanong, hindi ba violation to ng bill of rights? (ex post facto)

yun din tanong ko...

very few ang active IECEP members sa atin...and most of us thinks that they can get more from other organizations like IEEE even at roughly 4k / year...

wala na ring time yung iba sa atin to renew yearly membership...yung IECEP card ko dati, kinuha ko lang nung month na mag-expire na siya...

sana magkaroon din ng lifetime membership like my father is a lifetime member of IIEE (the EE org)...
