See here http://hobbycircuits.blogspot.com/
There is a circuit for LED driven by 220VAC using capacitor as the limiter.
Additional resistors was added for limiting the in-rush current and discharge of the caps when off.

100K-1/2W resistor in series is good.
Plus an additional reverse diode across the LED is needed to protect it from a high reverse voltage on the negative AC swing.
LEDs have low reverse breakdown voltage near 5V and will be damaged if exposed for a long time.

pwede na ba ang IN4004?

Yes you could use that.

Even a low voltage 1N4148 glass diode could be used.
The reverse voltage of the diode will be small because of the LED (approx 3V).

and this is the WORST WAY para mag light nang LED. gamit kna lang nang cellphone charger. 50 pesos lang or kung may naitatago kang hindi na ginagamit da best yun kasi regulated pa. ok... fine gagana nga. but for christ sake ang sarap humawak nang electronics kung hindi high voltage at isolated.

but hindi pa din isolated sa 220v line. kahit nag voltage drop... correct me if i am wrong.

would it be better to add inductors instead of resistors to limit inrush current?
