You need to modify the software in order to add more storage and not the hardware. I am not familiar with this kit but it seems that this will only work with 16 cards if stand-alone. Meaning this reader is not connected with a PC.
Maybe with a PC software to read, store and search for valid tags is the solution.
Also, the kit should have documentation when you bought it. It should be stated there on how to use this.

So probably you have to write your own code.

This is what e-gizmo told me po.. "The card numbers are registered and stored in the 93LC46A. This eeprom has just enough memory to store up to 16 cards only. If you use the RFID with serial option, you are no longer bounded by the 16 card limit imposed by the built-in memory. The ID number itself will be transferred to your PC by the RFID kit, hence your PC will manage and and handle ID database hereon. You can then register practically unlimited numbers of unique ID. On the PC side, you may use any software development kit you like, such as the immensely popular Visual Basic."

I plan to use smartcard reader or RFID reader of egizmo for a certain project which do you think is better? I plan to connect it to a microcontroller.
