kapag SMT packaging, ang resistor ay nakasulat na lang na  103 for 10K o kaya 104 for 100K.

Yung sa tolerance, tama yung explanation. kaya yung naghahanap ng 1 %, pipili lang lang doon sa mga 5 % alin ang close to what you need. Sa mga tester, 1% ata...just use and accurate digital meter.

hindi lang tagasayang ng energy ang resistors kaya karamihan sa mga electronic circuits ay hindi mawawala ang resistors. These are some of the reason why we use resistors:

1. For bias - some circuits like yung mga simpleng transistors need resistors to bias them to operating regions of the transistor. In layman's term, sila ang nagseset ng point kung saan ang transistor ay gagana as an amplifier. Pag wala nito, maaring hindi maganda ang amplification (maki-clip ang signal, meaning nadistort na ang signal)

2.For bleeders - mahalaga ito lalo na sa mga power supplies or power circuits in general dahil ang mga resistor na ito ang sasalo ng excess voltages and currents sa circuit kung sakali hindi stable ang input voltage or current galing sa mga outlet (which is usually not stable)

3. As current limiters -  ang mga resistor, by nature, has an ability to block current flowing to it. Ibig sabihin, kaya niyang limitahan ang pumapasok na current and in effect, nalilimit niya yung biglang pasok ng current sa isang semiconductor device like LED

Eto lang ang natatandaan ko sa ngayon, but if you are trying to find a reference about electronic circuits in general, try this book: Teach Electricity and Electronics by Stan Gibilisco and Basic Electronics by Bernard Grob

sir paano naman sa 5 band o 6band resistors? pareho lang po ba?... may capacitor din po ba na may stripes o bands? paano po basahin?

May nabili ako mga resistors last month sa Deeco para Multispark CDI project ko. Nalito ako sa mga kulay. Body ng resistor ay kulay light blue at 4 band. Hindi ako sanay basahin at hindi ko talaga mabasa. Kailangan gamitan ko pa ng Fluke tester. Ano tawag or standard ng resistor na ito?
