Since there are 3 IR transmitter/sensor pairs, we need to use 3 op-amps, 1 for each pair.

The most practical is to use an LM324 chip, it has 4 op-amps in a 14-pin DIP package. This is a common chip, available in your local electronics store.

Here is the pinout:

Correction to the Figure in Reply # 19"

VR3 = (3.8V + 1.5V) / 2 = 2.65V

Here is the complete sensor circuit

LEFT, MIDDLE, and RIGHT output pins can now be connected to the MCU input pins. You will need 3 MCU input pins.

If you have junk opto-mechanical mouse as your source for the IR transmitter/sensor, then you can build this sensor circuit for less than P50.  Wink

sensitive kasi sa infrared ang mga webcams.. by the way you can also use "prepackaged" reflective object sensors from Optek available in RS, Farnell, try niyo din magtanong sa E-Gizmo kung available sa kanila.. magkasama na kasi yung phototransistor at light emitter in one package..

i am not sure kung meron ang Optek but I think meron ang Vishay ng long range photoreflective switch..
