megnetic levitation pa din yan. Yung hips ng girlaloo naglelevitate dahil sa neodymium magnet at metal balls. heehehe.

I tried winding my own electromagnet this week lang. Masyado yatang mataba yung wire na ginamit ko. nag-iinit yung coil tapos bumabagsak talaga yung terminal voltage ng Power supply. Try ko ulit this weekend using thinner wires.

may constant current yung supply?
mas maganda kung thinner wires tapos mas marami na lang ang turns.
proportional sa N x I (turns x current) ang strength nung magnet. kung manipis yung wire damihan na lang ng turns, kahit mas maliit ang current ok na rin.

@rdpzycho : yes, regulated yung current. Nag-iinit talaga. I tried winding using thinner wires, medyo mainit pa din tapos humina yung hatak. I need to find the sweet spot between coil heating and magnetic strength. Meron akong nakitang ganito dati na di gumagamit ng electromagnet. Dalawang neo magnet ang gamit tapos yung stationary magnet eh variable yung height gamit ang threaded shaft. Hahanapin mo lang yung point na nakasuspend lang yung hanging magnet. Baka mas okay gawin yun.

dpat ksi may proximity sensor ka tapos mas maganda sna pwm ang input sa electromagnet to vary the magnetic strengt relative sa distance.

Baka mas okay gawin yun.  masyado pa ring mataas yung heat loss. dapat sakto lang yung current para sa wire. kung ninipisan, dapat mas marami ang turns. mas maganda kung constant current supply na lang para bumaba kahit hanggang millivolts sa coil.
