sir/mam, nagcascade po ako ng 12 pcs na 8x8 matrix pero it seemd na mas malinaw ung display ng kalahating 6 pcs kesa sa haf na 6pcs.  ung mas malinaw na parte e ung mas malapit sa controller ckt.  ano un, nagkakaloss? suposedly ala diba? i used 74LS374 buffer register and 74LS164 serial in parallel out shift registers and 330 ohms in this panel.  it should display characters na pantay pantay ang tingkad ng ilaw diba? bakit kaya nagkaganun? help...

conductor loss perhaps? what wire are you using to provide power? how long is it?

Scanning naman ang display mo di ba? Na check mo ba ang timing?

bale po, from pc po ang input ng msg using vb6 then rs232 then max232 tapos sa pic16f628a na po then sa 74LS138 to control the rows using pn200 bjt.  thats for the MCU ckt. for the matrix panel ckt, 3 outputs from the pic will serve as the store, data, and clock of the shift registers (input for the clock of 74LS374, input of 74LS164, and input for the clock of 74LS164 respectively).  di naman po mahaba ung wire kaya i believe, the loss from that will be insignificant kasi maikli lang po talaga. 250us lang po delay din... hindi po kaya sa bjt ko? kasi po for switching lang naman purpose..  nga po pala ung communication from pc to MCU ckt is thru a USB to serial converter.  pasensya na po sa abala...

Much easier to see the whole thing pag may schematic! Cheesy Cheesy

Please check and let us know. Smiley

Well, the schematic is a bit small, but is good enough for our troubleshooting..

dagitap, please check the following:

If the brightness gradually falls with distance from your controller board, then paranz proposition is probably right. You can check this further by turning OFF the displays near the controller, kung lumiwanag ang nasa dulo, ito na nga! Grin The cure is simple. Add jumper wire (AWG18) to connect the +5V and GND bus of the last matrix (pinakamalayo sa controller) directly across your 7805 regulator output.

If the brightness falls abruptly and about equal with each half (6 matrix), then glenjoy proposition is more plausible.

-hope these helpz

Yup. definitely this is an issue on programming structure . e.g refresh rate/clock cycle or loops scan inconsistency that the matrix display can not respond appropriately...

uulitin ko, change the programming structure..

sa tingin ko, nakapattern ka sa zilog matrix scan documentation noh? advise ko sayo huwag mong gayahin yun... search the web for other programming structures.. trust me... it will work... Cheesy

Bakit kakaunti ang transistors? Ilang amps ba consumption na ng system mo? 1A or 1.5 A ba ang 7805? Check mo ang routine ng scanning mo.
