you can make a guitar tuner or a chromatic tuner. In my estimate, it can be done out of a 2K MCU so PIC16F628a or 84a will do. You can use a FET mic + a transistor amplifier to drive the counter input pins. you can use the other pins for the indication for the 6 strings with notes e(3) a d g b e(4) - (the number indicates octave.) Start from scratch then post what you have started here. I suggest you use mikroC because its free up to 2k for all MCU that it supports. The idea is to just measure the 6 frequencies that represent the open guitar strings. Wink
