Agree yun ang one way to increase your salary.
Pero be ready to loose your time for work...whether you like it or not kailangan mong panindigan ang position mo.Then work double time to be ahead sa mga tao mo..at to keep up with the resonsibility mo

I settle their disputes. I meet their needs. I look after the budget of the project.

Management job requires maturity and good leadership, hindi lang technical knowledge.

My point is not to compete with your people but to continually seek new knowledge, continually improve your competence....to be ahead of them.If things seems dull...you encourage them...if things cannot be agreed upon provide guidance.

Pero kung letteral ang pagka interpret na to compete with your people ibig sabihin immature, insecure and incompetent ka.

Maturity and leadership are basic necessity for you to effective on this area.It should be given

Being a PM there are a lot of things you should be dealing from what had been mentioned above..aside from people (motivating, guidance, work life balance, etc)but budget, time, fulfillment of project requirement, informal/formal training or your people, planning their careers not only yours... and etc.

After 10 years of Project Management, I have helped my employees in their careers.

Some of my former employees operate their own businesses others hold Principal Positions in bigger companies. They earn more than me but many still visit my office for help in their projects.

With the New ECE law and EE law competing for the scope of practice, competition among EE, ECE, and COE will get worse. Municipal Permits now include Electronics Permit for Telephone and Cable System. Lighting control system which used to be in the EE scope of practice will be part of ECE if Digital Addressable Lighting Interface is implemented in Building Automation.

If you decide which is pinaka-OK in the Philippines, pantay lahat.

Outside the Philippines, your PRC or APEC Engineer license is useless in North America. There are licensed EE's, ECE's and COE's working as caregivers in Canada.

hehehehe

Medical related courses  is still the easiest way to go abroad.Cant blame them we need to earn and feed our tyan.
Except for a few technical/non technical people who made it.
Well most likely they are going to make it.

In my own opinion a course that can give you the opportunity to work abroad wherein u can get a good position. Can get work dito sa pinas that u can earn good income  and also can be practiced in private or in public and or as a self employed professional.(Given you enjoy working on your choosen career)

For me I can say I made it by managing my career that gives me the opportunity to work in a project, in operations all in a managerial capacity and with work assignments here and abroad. Therefore aside from getting the right course..after graduation whta you want to pursue is something on how you manage it career wise.
Pero what really matters to me now...I get to go abroad pag may need ang work ko...earn above more from what I need, enjoy 4days of work..gagala...pa forum forum...will Im contented.

If you don't stop learning, you still can make it in North America. The most common problem among pinoys is the attitude and pride "technical manager ako sa Pinas ba't di ko makuha ang parehong trabaho dito".

Most of the successful pinoys here forget who they were in the Philippines. They continue learning and never stop looking for the job they want. There are lots of opportunities for those who seek. Walang palakasan or padrino dito. I was PEE board exam topnotcher but it did not help my career in the academe or in the government service. Only the review centers gave me promotions and increase my salary.

My personal experience is that "IT DOES NOT MATTER". Sa experience ko running a company, the school or course doesn't matter. It really just varies from person to person. So no matter what school or course you take it will really not affect your income. It all depends on the person. And for my opinion having a license does not indicate anything. I don't hire people by their course, school or license.

Even though I graduated in Mapua way back. I ended up working low paid jobs in the philippines and not wanting to compete with the "others" I worked as a food packer in Japan. After accumulating cash I expanded my parents business. And none of the work I did can be accredited to the school and course I have studied.

In the end it just depends on what type of person you are  Grin

After finishing BSEE, my first job was Depot Clerk for Shell. After passing the Asst EE board exam, I joined the academe and taught in review centers as sideline. After topping the Prof. EE board exam, I quit the academe to get actual engineering experience.

I later joined government service to get actual experience as metering engineer in preparation for possible oversea job and did project design and management jobs as a Professional EE.

I ended up migrating to Canada where I worked my way up from Metering Technician to Metershop Foreman, Project Coordinator then Principal Project Manager.

Along the way I invested in skills upgrading and education in Canadian Colleges and completed technical and journeyman courses. While I agree, it depends on the person. It's also about the little steps you take to reach your goal and how you enjoyed taking those little steps.
