Not sure sis kung yan ba yung end switches kaya to stop a geared motor. Weused such in antenna rotator para hinde pumaluput yung coax sa paiikot.  We also used end switches sa mtorized winches to control the sail in sailboats.

gie is correct, its the forward-backward shaft movement. It is of particular importance to motors with sleeve bearings.

Uy, thanks sisters. altho not so clear to me yung forward and backward movement. parejo ba forward and reerse ibig sabihin. Dahil kung say walang PM ang isang motor, and tward and backward nya natural free wheeling. Or is it push pull clearance? Honestly I don't know and want to know what this means. naka "end paly" sa tignin ko yung mga geared motor dahil nagkakaroon ng play yung gears. Pero yung motor lang, di ko makuha. Pls help.

end play, is the axial movement of the shaft. sa electric fan makikita mo ito kapag nag-on or off ka ng fan...kung nakaharap ka sa e-fan, the motor shaft/blade will go towards & away from you...this occurs while the motor is finding its magnetic center.

@TS

Bakit ka nagtatanong kung ano ang end-play in the first place? Yes, end-play is to use your term push-pull clearance.

Thanks Migs, so,it is the shaft movement "push-pull" or baga "in-out" of the housing. Maganda yung explanation mo sa electric fan. ganun nga, "nagraratol" minsan. Nagkakaroon ng aberration.
Thanks...

The end-play specification is usually found in step motors data sheets and data sheets of other motors for robotics. Sa mga leadscrew driven XY tables, the positional accuracy ng XY table may depend on the amount of end-play. If the shaft moves front to back, then the lead screw could also move and this results in "backlash".
