I have a Nokia N73 cell phone that when I switch it on, it suddenly became Offline mode. There is no signal and when I put it on General profile and press to activate it, there is a message “insert sim card” although the sim card is already inserted. Also many forums says that when you switch off and switch on, the phone will ask whether you want to continue in OFFLINE MODE, select NO and it will be okay but there is no message like that. By the way, when I use my sim card to other phone, it works perfectly (and I put also other sim cards to my N73 but still it is on offline mode). They said that this Offline mode is prevalent problem of N73. Please help me find solution for this problem as I am not able to use my cell phone anymore. I will appreciate any help and/or suggestion you can share. Thank you very much.

I have encounter this issue before with a former co-worker asked me for help...

We tried reformatting the firmware and it does work for at least 3 month but then again we did the software but after 1 month it does the same problem again.

erwin_2009 is right that it is the crystal IC but some N73 still have issue after been replaced.

If the phone is still under warranty I suggest better bring it to Nokia Center... If not then go to the celphone shop YOU THINK is honest not to make your board swapped with much defective (karnehin)...

try to hard reset

how?
here is the procedure
press ang hold *,3,call, plus power on wait for the nokia logo
and in a few seconds, the nokia logo will blink ones, so that is the time to release the *,3,call ad power button, it will start up,so you have to select the country the press ok,

let see if what is the result,

if no lack, maybe the simcard reader is defective or the crystal driver of the simcard.

good lack,.
