True. And currently, I am making an SMS controller using the bt module as the modem using PIC MCU (PIC16F648).
I will release the source code and the simulation files as soon as its finished.

its tempting to go to that path, but my project, if implemented, will be installed on plantation fields. I suppose a simple rs232 interfacing will be better. But i love that feature of the bluetooth. Sir, can the bluetooth module hack over phones for SMS (assuming bluetooth of phones are turned-on)?

Yes. But needs a little social engineering.

Example: you could rename the module's name to "Enter 1234".
So when it connects, the phone asks for a passkey/pincode, the user sees the bt name and enters 1234.
Which is the modules pincode.  Then the security is bypassed. Wink

so sir, if you good with social engineering, perhaps you'll have an unlimited SMS through your computer... hehehe Grin

I see that the idea is similar to the data cables for mobile phones but though bt. The module will be helpful when you are a heavy texter...
Could that module also facilitates the firmware upgrades for some BT phones?

OT!!! hehehe Grin

Phone firmware upgrade via BT is not possible.  The phone's firmware is off at the time and no bluetooth comms.  Only the bootloader will be present.

BTW, this is a short video on using BTSerial1 on a terminal searching and connecting to a bluetooth phone.
Then retrieves all SMS messages.

This is the finished and working sms controller.  I'm planning to build another one using my own pcb design to fit a particular enclosure.  Now that master zerowing has posted his code for the btserial module, I can code scavenge and begin to work on a pic version (if I have time this coming christmas vacation).

Take note basic language ang ginamit.

I will try to port this 1 with Z8 Encore. Since I already have the hardware.

more than 10 years ko na gamit yung dlr3 and 6210, so far wala naman problem except kung nag-hang yung fon. meron ako hex codes to reset the 6210 by sending it by burst kung ayaw na talaga mag-respond yung unit. for now mas preferred ko yung mga gsm modules kasi mas rugged (power on then off lang reset na) unlike sa ordinary fon pag nag-fail ang display ang hirap na gamitin.

Smiley

pogi point for you!:)

here are hex codes to reset the n6210 fon, send it in serial 9800 baud, make sure you dont send any more code after the last hex code

1E 00 0C 40 00 06 00 01 64 03 01 42 77 06

enjoy!

one typical routine na ginawa ko is, i send a hung-up command "ATH" sa unit. its very helpful kasi if you want to test the fon if it is still communicating with the controller; you just simply call the unit, kung nag hung-up in less than 10 rings,  it is assumed that it is working normally
