Hi guys...
For example we have a 5HP DC motor water pump. Ilang panels ang kakailangin para tumakbo ang motor in a normal running condition.
Please show computation and kung paano malalaman ang Watt-peak ng panel na gagamitin.
thanks,

Then another question is ilang hours mo kailangan patakbuhin yung motor in a day (you need this to compute for the battery bank).
Sample computation:
12Vdc, 50watt water pump you need this to work for about 1 hour a day.
Power(Watts)=V(voltage)*I(current)
Total AH needed per day = 50watts/12v * 1 hour = 4.16AH
If you receive roughly 5 hours of sun a day. You need to produce 4.16AH of power during that period.
Your solar panel needs to produce 4.16AH / 5 hours = 0.832Amp per hour.
So what's the spec of the solar panel you need?
P= 0.832A * 12v = 9.984 Watts.
You need to buy a solar panel rated 12v and a minimun of 10 watts. And you need a charge controller as well as a battery bank with a minimum of 8AH.

if I may add, when using Lead Acid batteries, using it at a rate of 1C (for non-AGM type) will only last for 30 minutes. 0.6C rate will make the battery run for an hour.
the relationship is exponential. C (or AH) rating of a Lead Acid battery is meassured at 20 hour rate. IIRC, it's called the Peukert effect.

salamat in advance.

salamat in advance.
Assumptions (220V appliances) 2 bulb CFL - 11 watts each - 22 watts total 1 electric fan - 70 watts 1 desktop speaker 8 watts kunyari Total is 100 watts (para madaling mag compute) 100 watts running for 5 hours is 500Watt Hour. Sa 12volt solar pv system, that would be like (500watt hour/12volts) = 41.7Amp Hours worth of power sa 12 volt battery ang gagamitin ng mga appliances na yan. Assuming umuulan and hindi nagchacharge yung battery mo from solar, you need a battery that would be able to handle yung 41.7AH. Since usually mga deep cycle is maximum na yung 50% ang pwede mong i discharge. So at least 100AH na 12 battery (deep cycle) ang kailangan mo. For PV panel naman, assuming you have 5 hours full sunlight in a day, you need to produce 41.7AH in 5 hours. So that means 41.7AH/5 hours = 8.3Amps per hour @12V. So PV panel mo na kailangan is 8.3A x 12V = 99.6watts na 12 volts PV panel. Tapos lagyan mo na lang ng allowance for system loss since dadaan pa yan ng charge controller saka inverter. Although if usually you get more than 5 hours a day worth of sunlight, pwedeng yun na yung allowance. Hope that helps.

for example..in a house...operating, let we say 1Kw ang nagrurun na appliances...mga magkanu lhat magagastos sa battery, Solar panel, charge controller etc needed sa solar power for house needed....
Tnx...

depende kung gaano katagal. 24 hours na 1kw is very different sa 1 hour na 1kw. Mas maganda tignan mo total KHW ng meralco bill mo. Pero just to give an idea, sa 3kw na solar panel, assuming mga 6 hours a day worth of sunlight ang makukuha nya so lumalabas na 18kwh ang kaya nya iproduce in 1 day. so thats 30 day x18 = 540KWH. Ang mga 3kw na solar package like ito ( http://3kwsolarsystem.com/index-4.html#kwlink) is nasa $10k so almost kalahating milyon. Grid tie pa yan, meaning wala kang battery bank. Ito sa ibang website, almost $10k din ( http://www.beyondbuildingenergy.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=84). So I think di nagkakalayo yung mga presyo ng ibang mga 3kw systems. Break Even point Rough calculation: At PHP10 per kwh ng meralco, (I think mas mataas na ngayon), yung kalahating milyon is like PHP500,000/PHP10 = 50,000KWH worth of meralco electricity. Kung nagaaverage ka ng sabihin na nating 500KWH per month (para madaling icompute), so that's 50,000/500 = 100 months. So that's 8.333 years. Ang kagandahan lang is after that libre na electricity mo.

it will depend sa source mo and sa klase ng solar panel mo, gaano kabilis mo gusto ma-charge yung 24V battery? you can try to contact e-gizmo or 1diy here in elab.
