Home Automation via Powerline (X10 Protocol)

I made my own front end circuit a couple of years ago for a Power Line Carrier remote control system, and master glutnix is right. If a PC, or any appliance with built in noise suppressor is plugged alongside (or at any point in between) the master controller and slave device, communication stops. The noise suppressor, as it turned out, will also shunt the PLC signal . The project was scrapped because of this problem.

Ano na ba bago at better way for home automation?

Nakaka enganyo kasi itong X10 kasi ang mura nya sa US (http://www.x10.com/promotions/rca_kit_0605.html).  Di nga lang pwedeng gamitin dito.

mura talga ang x10 dito talamak pa noon, ngaun ay halos bilang mo na lang gumagamit niyan dito. (isa na ako)
hardwired mostly ang gamit dito sa homeautomation na ininstall ko, we run cat5e cables sa attic and behind walls
yung iba naman na ininstall ko ay RF ang gamit or IR point to point un hehehehhe

hassle kasi mag latag ng new wiring eh.  Tutal isasaksak ko din naman yung mga automation devices na ito sa power outlet, the best if there's a way to just use existing electrical wiring.   Although worst case would be to use wireless technologies to tie it all together.   Which means any home automation project, kailangan lagyan ng wireless capability. Although since dito sa pinas, puro concrete ang pader, mahina ang wireless signals at times.

mas reliable ang hardwire kumpara sa wireless in homeautomation
but wireless are not bad also, cguro depende na lang talga

it means yung installer ay behind the walls nde yung mga wire 
kaya tight na tight location nyahahahahaha
