As mentioned on that thread Born2bewired wants to give away his Alexan AS9640 oscilloscope. Gagawa tayo ng contest na ang prize ay ang oscilloscope ni Born2bewired. Kaya lang kailangan ko ng inputs ninyo kung ano ang criteria natin at anong klaseng contest ang gagawin natin. Raffle draw is not an option.

First of all, dapat yung pacontest na gagawin natin eh walang use muna ng Oscilloscope.. obvious di ba? wala pa kaming oscilloscope eh,    

1. Project has to be well documented upon presenting it to the Forum - includes schematic diagram, BOM etc.. and theoritical explanations too

2. Actual working prototype has to be recorded on a video and uploaded to youtube..

It's ok for me if I'm disqualified.  
I have already an oscilloscope, in fact I only use it if in working with analog designs.  Now am mostly doing embedded and it is rarely used.  Only during hardware debugging.

On topic:
Sir Electron, how about creating a new sub-board for the contest where everyone could posts a "tutorial" on any electronics or programming topics.  Members and mods could vote using poll on how it is helpful, informative or with technical merit.  Similar format/rules of "design contests" and whoever wins gets the prized oscilloscope.  After the contest, the tutorials can then be moved to the appropriate boards.

Yes I got your point. 

Maybe for students or newbies, they could post their school projects. Or tutorials based on their experience like some of the posts here: PCB using Xerox,  Photosensitive PCB processing, CMOS-TTL interfacing and Proteus tutorials. 

I could give more topic examples like: PCB drilling techniques, Soldering techniques, Organized Wiring, Breadboarding techniques, Importance of capacitor bypass, Making of Beginners Power Supply, Hi-fi Audio techniques, Combining of Hi-fi speakers, Speaker Cross-over computation, SMD components soldering techniques, Enclosure Making, Hot-air soldering techniques, Cleaning your soldering iron, Oscilloscope beginners tutorial, Building a Logic Probe, How to Bake a Cake or any topics and tutorials under the sun.  These are not very technical but useful to everyone.  It could even be a product review of a multimeter, oscilloscope or any equipments we use.

Sorry, I won't part with my scope. hehehe....
Actually, I rarely need it but when its needed it is a MUST.  It is like working blind without a scope.

akin na lang yun isa jan gamitin ko sa company namin, right now yung bluetooth module na gamit namin is hinde mabago ang baud rate kasi di pwede AT command. through GUI dapat ang pagbabago...

btw, pwede ba controllin ang RTS ng bluetooth serial controller via software? para pwede sana for RS485 comms
