Thermal printer, MCU, LCD, battery, flash storage and keypad lang ang kailangan. Why you need to make one? for thesis? If this is for commercial applications, I might be of help.
Actually, I have a ongoing project for bus ticketing. Initially, I was planning to make my own hardware but decided to buy a ready-made one from China. I just developed the software. This is much cheaper and lesser hassle on my part.

yes. this is for thesis. our topic po is about plastic bottle and aluminum can segregator + vending machine. the features of a candy vending machine and a waste segregator are combined in one po. but they wanted na if possible, we incorporate a ticketing system for the kids, para whenever they use the machine, they get a ticket to be collected tapos ang pinakamaraming tickets could get them plus points in their science subject (for example)

*just an idea. a capacitive sensor for detecting plastic/AL. and a chute and a carousel for each bottle for capacitive sensor. *ticket means much like the one in arcades?

yung hindi na po kelangan ng lcd screen. yung parang sa gaming zones po..tickets like that?
we were also confused po kung ano ang ms maganda, may candy vending pa or tickets nalang ang lalabas.... we were also concerned din po sa cost. since, an elementary school can possibly implement a program featuring our thesis...and they'll be shouldering the cost. kung kaya, papayagan kami on our thesis.

back 90's meron nito ang gatorade. same principle.
mas cheaper nga kung gaming tickets. pero medyo mahirap i source. (i think i saw these tickets sa raon) about sa cost. it should pay for itself. meaning if operated for 6mos - 1 year may roi kna. candy/tickets is ok. yup! no need for lcd screens or fancy thingy but it's better to use a mcu for this contraption.
happy buildin'!

you'll have to design your own circuit and write your own program for the machine. a pic micro should do the trick since it's a lot easyier to code. as for the design. you should make at lease on how the device would work.
