I have 2x 220V/110V 500W transformer.

I plan to connect in parallel the 110V outputs so I could get 1000W for my 110V Vacuum cleaner and Power Drill.

Wala bang masamang magyayari kung out of phase yung 110V outputs in parallel since hindi ko ma-check yung windings?

1. Connect just one ends of the transformer secondary's together, leave the other ends open. (i.e. connect the secondary windings in series)
2. Apply power to the transformer primary.
3. Measure the AC voltage across the two free ends of the secondary

If the measured AC voltage is close to zero, the phasing is correct and you may tie the two free end together to complete the parallel connection.

If it measured 220V, then swap the ends of one winding and repeat the test Smiley

BTW, the previous method applies only if the secondary windings are isolated from the primary.

If you are to parallel two autotransformers, simply apply power and then measure the AC voltage across the outputs of the two transformers. If the voltage is close to zero, it is safe two connect the two together to complete the parallel connection.

Ako takot sa High Voltages.

Warning! just follow sir B2BW procedure else a big EXPLOSION could happen if the 110V secondary is paralleled and out-of-phase. Grin

And be extra careful for non-isolated ones!

Thanks mga master.  Basta involved na ang 110/220V takot na ako.

> Ako takot sa High Voltages.

in this case, pwede ka gumamit ng 6volt ac source, this time connect your two secondaries to 6 volts to supply those windings...

then follow the steps mentioned by born2bewired....sa "primary" ka naman magcheck...

at least walang panganib ng shock...you should get the same results kung tama ang phasing mo...

in case of different wattage ratings, their per-unit impedances should be the same so that load sharing would be proportional to their respective ratings

Posible po ba i-parallel ang output ng PSU ng computer? same brand same wattage? 12 volts po.

or

Posible rin ba magparallel ng stepdown transformer? 12 volts din, 12 amps? ..

gagamitin ko sana sa high power amplifier.

parallel connected transformers always have circulating current both in primary and secondary windings.
