SEMINAR DESCRIPTION:
This is about understanding the electrical system & illumination in buildings and facilities. It addresses the fundamentals of electricity, electric circuits and protection, lighting systems, power distribution, motors and its maintenance, electrical system installation and electrical safety practices.

BASIC COMPETENCY
   It will enhance the participant's knowledge on the terms, theories and application of recent technologies to the industry practice.
   The course will enhance the participant's skill in the industry practice of system illumination design and safety engineering protocols in the industry.
CORE COMPETENCY:
   Understanding of electricity basics
   Measuring electrical consumption
   Installing and monitoring motors and starters
   Recognizing, setting up, and maintaining reliable and effective maintenance.

   Electromechanical Engineers for utilities
   Electrical Supervisors, Technicians
   Electricians in commercial and industrial maintenance
   Consultants and Project engineers
   Electrical engineers, graduates who would like to be a utility & building engineer and electrical technology vocational graduates

COURSE OUTLINE
DAY 1
1. Explain the basic and fundamental theories on the importance and proper usage of electricity including safety protocols on electrical safety programs. 
 Introduction to Electricity and Electrical Safety.

2. Describe the construction and operation of several types of DC source of voltage electromotive force. 
Fundamentals of direct current circuits.

3. Describe how AC Current is generated through electromagnetic induction
Fundamentals of alternating current circuits

4. Distinguish between analog and digital meters
Electric meters and the measurement of electricity

DAY 2
5. Describe the methods for generating electricity.
Building power and distribution

6. Describe characteristics and uses of various types of fuses
Circuit protection

7. Describe basic characteristics of light and light production
Lightning and illumination

8. Explain how the PEC (Philippine Electrical Code) is produced and its application to local requirements.
Electrical system installation

DAY 3
9. Explain the principles of electrical motor operation and effects of these principles on performance
Introduction to electric motors

10. Explain how to perform basic mechanical and electrical test or checks
Electric motor maintenance

11. Describe the equipment when troubleshooting electric CKTS
Troubleshooting
