sorry disregard mo po yung first post ko hehehe nagkakamali lang ito po tama 2n3055 sorry...pnp nga pla yung isang un ano ba iniisip ko...



this will not going to produce 5 volts but about 4.4v because of the voltage drop 0.6v -0.7v on the B-E juntion of 2n3055. put a series diode(1n4001) on the pin2 to ground of the regulator to equalize the output to 5volts.

galeng talaga ni sir rpz angdami ko natutunan, sir posible rin bang bumaba ang output voltage kapag umiinit yung regulator?

kung nasa loob pa ng thermal limit at current limit, nope. ang voltage cutoff ng 78xx regulator ay based sa current limit at temperature limit, of which, medyo mataas 'yung sa temp limit, tipong babaon na sa kalyo 'yung tab.

Tip lang po...merong 7812,7805 etc..regulators na hindi talaga kaya nga 1.5 amp output...look on the middle letter na naka sulat..meron ako 78m05,78m12 that is 0.5a capable only...pang lumapas ang current demand it will automatically cut off. LM7805...series are 1.5A capable.

yep, that is why a bypass is in order.
using the 2955 PNP is better than the NPN 3055.

Mag shutdown yun 7805 kung sobra na init. Pero sa situation ngayun ay 750ma lang pala yun transformer. Baka ito muna una bumigay bago mag shutdown yun 7805 pag full load na 1.5A.
Dapat yun transformer capacity ang baguhin. Let's say palitan nya ng 9V 3A.
