AFAIK, servo motors won't turn more than 360 degrees.

http://www.acroname.com/robotics/info/ideas/continuous/continuous.html

http://www.uscoles.com/kapcontinuous.html

http://www.robotstore.com/download/Servo_Mod_Notes_1.0.pdf

for compete reference sabi ni Googler :
http://www.google.com.ph/search?hl=en&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=continuous+servo+rotation&spell=1
or
http://www.google.com.ph/search?hl=en&q=%22servo+continuous+rotation%22&meta=

kung ayaw mo ng mag mod eh di bumili ka ng modified servo sa Parallax... ang E-gizmo may parallax products na, so malamang meron na sila nitong continous rotation servo

The potentiometer also needs to be removed. But this would not be technically a servo motor anymore.  It will just become an "ordinary" DC motor with reduction gears.

Servos need the feed back via the potentiometer for accurate positioning. Removing the potentiometer and the plastic stopper is just using the DC motor, the motor driver and the gears inside.

Bro, nalilito ako  Huh  Huh, servo runs on three wires only[which is still valid on mod servos], DC motors reverse rotation through H-Bridges[which mod servo doesnt]..

Even if you remove the internal stop this is still a servo ... and servo mod doesnt mean removing the potentiometer completely...right? you have to connect back the potentiometer...

Smiley No, the potentiometer should be removed because the pot shaft is rotated with the motor. And the pot will not turn full 360.  This is replaced by two resistors of half value of the pot connected.  It is simulating a half-turned potentiometer.

The H-bridge is internal.  It will work like a normal DC motor after modification.  But the control is still servo-like less than 1.50ms pulse will stop the motor less than that will reverse and more than 1.50 ms will turn forward.  But this does not use the pot feedback so its internal servo circuit is useless.

I think they call it still servo because it is a modified from a servo motor.  But its use is just like a normal DC motor and still utilizing its parts.
