The first victim of the AH1N1 virus is a female who arrived in Philippines on May 18 from United States. Her throat specimen tested positive according to the results gathered by Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM). The girl developed some symptoms of the swine flu the next day after she arrived in the Philippines. She was then brought to RITM Muntinlupa where she was diagnosed.

It is advised that the public should always observe proper hygiene, strengthen their immune system by taking vitamins and do distance themselves from crowded areas and large social gatherings if it is not urgent.
