South Korea To Build World’s Longest Superconductor Electric Distribution System

Due to the high demands in electric power consumption, South Korea is expanding its transmission line system using superconductors instead of copper or aluminum cables.  South Korea already ordered 50 miles of Superconducting cables from American Semiconductors http://www.amsc.com/ which would carry 50 MW of power.

Did you ever noticed that the main page of Google is encoded in morse code? That is because today is the birthday of Samuel Morse; the inventor of the first practical telegraph and of course the morse code. Samuel Finley Breese Morse (April 27, 1791 – April 2, 1872) was actually an American painter of portraits and historic scenes. Later, he invented the practical telegraph because of his interest on electromagnetism and the first commercial telegraph invented by Cooke and Wheatstone. The telegraph invented by Cooke and Wheatsone uses several pairs of wires and is more expensive to maintain and install, The telegraph invented by Samuel Morse uses a pair of wire and is relatively cheaper.

The LG GD 900 Mobile phone features a transparent touchpad with a transparent slider. World Digital Library Launches Online

The Library of Congress and others have launched the World Digital Library, it puts online cultural materials from 32 different countries.  The World Digital Library is an ambitious project which aims to put primary reading materials coming from different countries into the internet. It also aims to provide these reading materials free of charge and in multilingual format.

It is run by the Library of Congress with the support of other partners in different countries and the United Nations Education, Scientific, and Cultural Organization.
